Kava keeps me going.
Early afternoon took one 4oz shell. As per usual took time sipping first half of shell. Thick creamy taste with a hint of pepper. Not bad at all. Mouth numbing immediately but mild and not unpleasant
Chugged the rest of the shell. Almost immediately felt a nice calming effect that quieted my benzo taper symptoms - both physical and mental. A little bit of stomach churning but nothing severe or nauseating. It's a Sunday and I've already read the paper so it's the perfect time to sit still and meditate on how I'm feeling. Feel totally able and willing to get in touch with this kava's effects.
Got up to get water and felt a little pleasant wooziness - UNpleasant wooziness is a constant feeling in my life at the moment. So maybe the kava was helping me relax and accept that feeling rather than trying to fight it.
10 minutes in and I feel my muscles relaxing - especially the tightness in my neck. Looked up at the daytime moon and could swear it was moving - naw it's just the clouds moving, silly. So perception is definitely affected. Definitely not a kava to take if driving biking and perhaps even walking!
One shell is definitely very relaxing so going to give it another 30 minutes before I go back for more.
30 minutes in and feel a little intermittent tingling in back of head.
Arms feeling heavy and don't really feel like holding my phone to make notes! Ooh - dictate! Good idea. Love these new fangled phones!
Got up to scoop second shell. I have to go food shopping later so I hope any jello-like body effects have worn off by then! Although now I've decided to clean the patio furniture - so I can relax in the perfect sunshine.
Not getting those weird muscle spasms I got on first experience with Malolo. So that must have been me and not taking enough as Cactus Kava suggested. Still getting little spurts of tingling. Not scary like the anxiety tingles. If you've ever had energy healing it kinda feels like that - you feel a wave of energy moving through your body before leaving - hopefully for good. I'm feeling it on my head , down my back and in my hands. I'm imagining it to be all my anxious feelings disappearing and the neurotransmitters healing.
30 mins after second shell and still feeling the wooziness. Felt pretty good so didn't want to push my luck with a third shell.
So after two shells and about 3 hours felt able to make a quick trip to the supermarket. I'm still feeling quite lazy with particularly heavy legs. Definitely don't have the tightness I felt after my first session and definitely don't want to do a darned thing . Why oh why do I have to cook dinner tonight?
Generally, if you're looking to kava to obliterate an anxiety disorder or get rid of those horrible benzo withdrawal symptoms, I don't think any kava will do that. But Malolo goes a long way to making it manageable and easier to live with. Once the busy seasonal work I do is over, I'll be settling down for a few more kava sessions
Oh and still felt some muscle relaxing effects the following day. Not too shabby! Thanks Cactus Kava!!
