6 acetone tests in melting test tubes.

Obviously these are extremely unprofessional results, especially since the tubes melted by the time it settled fully.
The first pic was taken after only 30-60 minutes. What I can say from viewing it first-hand is that they all looked pretty good, except for the Starwest kava (#6), which is known to be junk. Apart from that one, the eBay waka(#2) had a mildly suspicious tinge to it. My usual local Mystery Waka (#1) was surprisingly good looking, especially considering how potent and heavy it is, but still not quite as stand-out as The Root of Happiness' Solomon kava(#3) which was unquestionably good and the ROH Samoan(#4) which was a close 2nd.

Oh Geez. I recently tried to do some spectra of hexane kava extract using plastic cuvettes that are supposed to be resistant to solvents. They work well for acetone, but it turns out not well for hexane. So, I feel you.

Those test tubes are probably polystyrene or something, and acetone will dissolve that stuff easily. Here is a helpful chemical compatibility chart: **See Attached PDF File**

Easter egg coloring wires would actually be a step up, these were just unfolded and twisted paper clips that I scrounged from the dusty bottoms of forgotten drawers. This was all done to satisfy my curiosity immediately, without having to wait for equipment to be ordered and shipped, hence the ghetto rig.

I think my ghetto rig was really, really, really, fantastic. Hundreds of people tell me it was one of the best rigs...one of the best. Believe me. Anyone who says it isn't is really, really a not smart person.
