Don't mean to clutter up the forum with a silly post, but I just received another package of Mo'i micro today from @Gourmet Hawaiian Kava , and I was just compelled to say, it's always a huge treat for me. I've tried other kavas, and a lot of them are nice, but for me personally nothing compares to GHK's Mo'i micro. It's like getting a visit from a good old friend who you haven't seen for years, or (insert nostalgic metaphor here)...

It's just great. Focus, alertness, stress-relief, all the best parts of kava in my humble opinion are contained in this cultivar. If anyone's on the fence about Mo'i micro from GHK, get off the damn fence and try it out. (And no, this is not a paid promotion, I just love it that much).

Bula, Aloha, and Mahalo Chris!

I am super glad that you like the Moi, it is a good kava and a lot of others like it too. In Hawaii the 'Awa Moi was reserved for the Royalty so I guess it would have to be good. My Moi strain is from a cutting I took from the famous "Queens Patch" this Moi patch is talked about in Hawaiian history and mentions it's location in a certain Valley, I have been there and Ed Johnston has been there too. We both got cuttings from this great Moi patch. So in reality you are drinking what the Queen and other Royalty would drink here in Hawaii many many years ago. :hungry:
Aloha.

I just got mine too! I've only tried one other type of Kava from a different vendor (a 11 yr micro...).. I ordered the micro sampler, in addition to medium grind moi and boroguru. A pretty large order, but I felt I needed to test the waters. Sipping on my first cup of micro moi right now... Ahhh is correct. Definitely a well-cared for plant (and customer) Thanks Chris!

The micro is definitely a lot finer, than the other stuff I have. I can tell its been through a much more thorough preparation. The taste is definitely better too. Not as peppery. Not getting a lot of tingle, but its there. Can definitely feel it in my head though! Getting little bursts of energy as well. Dosage was a small TBS (<5grams), shaken well in soy milk. I picked up a nut milk bag to test out the med grind later :D

Thanks Chris for that awesome description and story. It really does have a royal feeling to it. :)

Getting little bursts of energy as well.
I get a similar thing with Mo'i, depending on the time of day and where my head is at. It seems, if I have something to do, and I drink some Mo'i, it just makes that thing more appropriate and enjoyable to do, (almost) no matter what it is. Like this evening I deep-cleaned the kitchen and felt totally motivated the whole time, lol.

I don't know if I've ever mentioned this, but I like Mo'i a lot and have yet to find anything even close to it. I guess the Boroguru was pretty good too, but still, man, Mo'i. I'm really stoked to try this Papa Kea next.

Wait a second.

"Mo'i" rhymes with "Joy"???

It doesn't rhyme with "Joey?"

What's going on here?
