All I can suggest is that "kava gummies" are not kava, they are a chewy extract of kavalactones with tapioca and other ingredient made and/or distributed by a company based in Portland Oregon. I am leery of businesses which call a product "kava" when the product is an extract of kavalactones, flavored. Part of this concern is their claim that- "The key to kava’s therapeutic effects lies in its active compounds called kavalactones." This is an outdated, inaccurate statement, misleading as well. Likely the landmark study which clearly demonstrates there is much more to traditional kava than kavalactones, was published in 2022 and concluded: "This study provides foundational data about a different subset of compounds within kava than previous research has studied, and also informs the community of the compounds that transfer into the consumed beverage during the traditional means of preparing kava".
