Bula Kava House

Portland, OR
Kava Vendor
Kava Bar Owner
On March 22nd Bula Kava House turns 3 years old. I decided to make this place a reality after seeing the lovely community at Kanaka Kava while I was living on the Big Island. People told me it wouldn't work, they said I was crazy and suggested I open a full restaurant that ALSO serves kava, or to open a small cart. No way could a muddy flavored, non-addictive, mild intoxicant carry a brick and mortar and online business. Yet here we are still serving and selling kava, and doing more of it every day. It's all thanks to the community that kava creates, proven strong over the last 3,000 plus years of south pacific enjoyment. Kava drinkers from all walks of life are friends inside the doors of Bula Kava House, and virtually over the internet through this forum and others. Thanks for making this possible. If you live near Portland, the 22nd would be a good day to stop by. We'll have kava specials, live music, contests and raffles. If you can't make it in, make sure you're signed up to our mailing list. I have a sneaking suspicion there will be a discount code to help you celebrate with us in spirit. Just go to bulakavahouse.com to sign up.

Congratulations Judd! We're glad you're still all around 3 years later. Some day, somewhere over the rainbow I hope I get the chance to visit Bula Kava House in person.

A happy late anniversary to ye guys.

Ye have been a blessing to this newbie, for ye are the first vendors I encountered whose prices did not attack my meager budget. A month later, I cannot tell you how pleased I am with your kava. Every variety I have ordered thus far - Koniak, Nambawan, and Boroguru - has been absolutely wonderful in its own way. The beginnings of my journey with kava would not have been the same without ye, if I may wax a bit corny.

I find the American West to be incredibly beautiful and will take every rare chance I can get to go there. When next I am near Oregon, whenever that may be, I really and truly want to pay ye all a visit and have a shell or two with ye.

Thank ye, and may much love and happiness be with ye.

P.S. My sincere apologies, for I am a part of the reason for the difficulties keeping up with demand. Ye do have a new fan. I can't help myself!
