What do you do with all the stump roots?? :)
Hi Henry, I refer to all the roots from the kava as lateral roots and then the corm or stump is the second part I use, in Fiji it is the same as the waka and lewena. I do not have enough kava to offer the hair like lateral roots, that might be a private reserve kind of thing, it is the best of the best when it comes to kava, the only way to get any better is to drink fresh root. Aloha.

would the higher percentage of lateral root make you more likely to have nausea?
I would have it should not, I add enough stump to help with that, I would say that 100% pure stump would be better for that but it might still have that effect, it depends on the person to a large extent. Let me know if you want me to send you a sample of 100% stump so you can try it and see if you like it.
I wonder if others might like 100% stump? I can not do that with the lateral roots because I would run out of lateral roots for the rest of the kava but I have plenty stump to offer that as a regular offering. Aloha.

thanks for clarifying this, Chris! What I meant was that if you now use a higher ration of lateral to stump in your kavas, then surely you are left with a surplus of stump, aren't you? That's why I was wondering what happens with this extra amount of stump..

I am personally super excited about the higher ratio of lateral roots to stump, but, as you say, perhaps some people would like 100% stump if it was to be more gentle on the stomach? I don't know..

I am currently drinking 100% pure chips Vanuatu kava. It's not my favorite, but I did buy it specifically to be gentle on the tummy.

I actually like the new blend very much. It is amazingly smooth yet much more potent & I like this. The only occasions I've had nausea was buying from vendors who claimed their kava noble, but in reality was laced with tudei. I was more curious about the compound profile of the lateral roots & if the higher strength comes only from being more concentrated than stump or if there is a slight variation in the composition profile which adds to this extra Kung Pao!::chugger::

I think the lateral roots are capable of changing the chemotype slightly, as well as being more concentrated in kavalactones. Like, the stump may test as 463251 but the lateral roots may be 462351.

Say one wanted to place a special order with you, what would the cost be to try maybe a quarter or half pound of pure lateral root? :D
