hey guys, I used to be active in the yuku lounge, but then went without the internet for quite a while. Regardless, i'm back(with a new name, @Roaddog will appreciate it.)

I'm glad to see the forum maturing while continuing to remain a calming, welcoming, and positive atmosphere.

Anyways, I could write a novel here, (but i won't) and so much has changed in my life since I was in the lounge. Kava remains the only substance in the world that I won't abuse until i'm insane or end up killing myself with. I quit drinking and doing hard drugs almost eight years ago, and kava does for me what alcohol could never do. With kava I retain my mental faculties, and continue to grow as a father and a husband. Life doesn't race by at warp speed, like with alcohol. kava calms my mind and allows me to look at problems without undue amounts of stress. I had back surgery a couple years ago, and kava helps immensely with lingering issues. it relaxes my body without the use of opiates/nsaids, and prepares my body and mind for the next day, so I can start off on the right foot.

I'll shut up now. it's good to be back!

Fantastic story, @August West. I loved reading that! I'm a father who has come through a haze for the last three years, missing out on a lot with my children due to self-involvement and withdrawing with substances and your words struck a nice chord with me.

Chris, I was the fellow who messaged you asking for some pointers on my kava cutting, which is still alive :) I'm gonna see i'd I'm able to take quite a few more cuttings so I can eventually share with folks who enjoy the nurturing process of growing your own. I've found that kava, when having to bring indoors in colder environments, end up being nice house plants that don't outgrow your living space. they certainly grow slower, almost going dormant during winter. But yes, I have sampled your mahakea, mo'i, waka, and hanakapi'ai. all of them quite lovely, and certainly gourmet! sadly money is tight until my tax return, in which I will sample your mahakea micro. I've been scared to pull the trigger on it, in worries that I might not get the mileage out of it that I get with your medium grind. do you find a 1/2 lb of micro compares to a pound of medium grind?
I turned my boss and another co-worker on to your product line, so whenever you see an order going to cincinnati ohio or belleview ky, chances are I'll be tipping my glass(or shell) to you, a few days after you ship it out.
PS, you should consider hiring me by stocking my home and making it a shipping hub for the mainland/midwest. will work for kava :)

I hope your cuttings work out, I also have noticed that in the winter time the kava does grow slower, if you have them indoors make sure you get some light with the far red spectrum, the kava likes that.
I would say that the 1/2 pound of micronized will last longer than a 1/2 pound of medium grind, send me a PM with your address and I will send you a sample of the micronized so you can see if you like it better than the medium grind. Aloha.

Welcome back @August West, I look forward to more posts from you. (y) A while back we compared root versus Micronized and we determined that Micronized gave you more bang for the buck. It is also a great time saver and time is very valuable to me. I can get by with 2 tablespoons of Micronized and 3 is plenty. 4 Tablespoons for me is an "extravaganza" which is one tablespoon short of an "orama". :D I'll be sipping some Micronized Mahakea this afternoon with club soda, ice and lime and hope it soothes my sore muscles.

Jman thank you for the input and Chris, you rock! If I had to choose just one kava for the rest of my life, mahakea would most likely be it. it's so perfectly well rounded.

I can only assume that "we" must mean your alternate personalities and not "we" kavaforums users because nobody consulted me on that ::amirite::
