Kava Preparation Got a used blender

I went to goodwill this weekend and picked up a $10 blender that looks straight out of the 70s. It's super loud, but it holds 5 cups and is very powerful.

I put in about 1/4th to 1/3rd a cup of kava and then 4 cups of water. Then I blend on high for about 3 minutes, and pour it through a Cactus Kava strainer.

I'm sold on blender kava prep. The kava I've been getting from it is at least as strong as traditional prep, if not even stronger! It's also much faster, I have time in the morning now to make some for work. I had been using an aluball, and I still use it for quick on-the-go situations, but the blender is just so fast now.

I have always blended when at home because that's what Gary from realkava.com recommends and they just happened to be the first vendor I bought from. I'm happy with the results I get.

I tried with a blender for 5 min and also an immersion blender for 5 min and each of those prep methods were not as strong as traditional for me. not sure what's up.
