Hi There, My name is Jack and I'm from Ireland.

I'be been lurking these forums for a while now and trying to read about kava as much as possible. I'm new to the whole kava thing and really excited to embark on my Kava journey.

I started off by ordering some Kava Kava candies from @Steve (Ozia) which am I really excited to try (When they manage to ship here) and I must say Steve was really friendly to answer a few of my questions over email.

My next plan of action is to order some real Kava brew from @Global Kava Exports and use it in combination with the candies to try and break the barrier of Reverse tolerance.

Have you guys got any recommendations on how to start my kava journey, break reverse tolerance and any nice strains/brews you guys like?

Hey and welcome to the forum!
Getting through RT can be a pain for a select few...
For others like me, I felt a little somthing on the first try, and the more I used kava, the more effects and benifits i felt
I myself started with a pretty strong kava (stone by N@H) and it may be because of the strength of this that I broke through rt so fast...withen 4-6 days I was getting full effects, I guess you will have to try and see..
Iv heard good things about the candy,
But not sure they will do much if u havent got through rt, so if u added some type of kava powder from a vendor from this forum...and with a little luck u might be able to get through rt quick..but guess it all depends,everyones different...read and read some more!

Welcome, @Kavajack! Steve's candies are really damn good. I just reordered a case. I find them to be incredibly effective and convenient. It's the real deal. Good stuff.

For breaking through RT, I suggest something strong (high kavalactone %). GKE's Mahakea (actually from Gourmet Hawaiian Kava originally) would be a good choice. I'm not familiar with the other varieties. I should probably try to track some of that stuff down stateside.

Hey @Steve Mariotti thanks very much for the rep,y and helpful advice I must take a look at that Mahakea, my biggest problem is bang for my buck, I heard quantity and quality seems to be best for breaking through RT, so that's why I was maybe thinking Instant Kava, What do you think?

@Bradley666 Thanks for the insight into your experience of breaking through RT, I do hope it's a short process for me, as for the candies I think your right that they won't be extremely effective for breaking through RT, but they could be complimentary for a good grog perhaps. I was thinking of going with Quick Kava Premium by @Global Kava Exports as they are Irish, or Instant Kava by @BulaKavaMan

You'll get some solid advice from @Steve Mariotti from what I've seen and no doubt @kavadude and more will load you up with more options too
I can also say that the @Steve 's Candy's are the real deal and great value. For me though, I reacted to the colour and or sweetener so can't take them.
I have it on good advice from Steve that he is working very hard to get them as "all natural" as possible.
@Kalm with Kava have their drink and concentrate too that ranks pretty highly and after speaking with Mike, they are also working hard to get the additives out.
Bang for buck seems to be the Instant one's so someone might pipe in on which they prefer or recommend.
Have you checked out @Paradise Kava 's paste yet?
@Bradley666 has had really good results as has a very close friend of mine

Hey @Kavo thanks for a great reply! - You're all really making me feel welcome here. I'm very much looking forward to stoves candy and I'll take all the advice and insight re Kava I can get! Unfortunately for me in Ireland most Kava Vendors shipping prices is ridiculous, The best shipping prices so far I have noted are @Global Kava Exports (Who have fantastic free shipping!!, So excited to have GKE in Europe) and @Paradise Kava have good shipping prices too, I did hear about their extracts, I heard that they taste exquisite and are great at breaking through RT. I'd definitely be interested in trying it, I think I might start off on some of the instants first (Ordered from GKE) and try and hammer through RT, perhaps with some additional pastes from PK.

Again, thanks for the advice man Waiting on my shipping so I can experience getting rooted/krunked!

During RT kava was kind of like taking a benadryl (diphenhydramine hcl). Just mild sedation and being bed-seeky. Once RT was over, it was an incredibly complex set of effects that took hold. To soothe and pacify and calm pretty much everything, body and mind. A pretty drastic difference.

That is actually very helpful to know, I was expecting no effects at all, I really hope RT doesn't last long!. Very excited to feel the real effects.

The Candy was really good!!!

I immediately felt what I felt 20 years ago within 20-30mins off 1!
No RT for Kavo

Unfortunately for me though as I said...massive headache an hour later. I know it's the additives as I avoid them in foods for the same reason
