Honoring Kava

Kava Curious
I would like to ask you guys for the best ways that I can honor kava as a substance, as well as the culture from which its use originated from.

I currently have no traditional preparation tools, no traditional bowl to make it in or shells to drink it from. I plan on getting this as well as a medium grind kava, in time. What is the best place of acquiring this for the most authentic equipment for this purpose, in your opinion? Also, are there any other ways that I can honor the kava before drinking it, any other type of rituals to perform besides the traditional prep? If there are any good documentaries you know of to help me better understand the culture and how to experience kava, please share.

Lastly I would appreciate some suggestions of organizations/causes to donate to to help the situation of kava, their cultivators and/or the culture that has been using it for all these thousands of years.

Quite a few questions.

The fact that your feeling drawn to ask this means your already honoring kava, recognize that it's a living being that gave it's life for you. It's lived it's whole life in a state of unconscious oneness so that it can teach you to go back there by its very essence not by a theorerical discussion with a plant.
Then you can be conscious of yourself as consciousness as you have the kava in you and it to then will know itself. This is the sacred relationship of plants and humans.

I find that a bowl and smaller bowl do feel the nicest with the kava but it's not neccesarry... just acknowledge the kava fully in whatever form you can
You'll feel it... sometimes I do chants that come to me while preparing kava . Even in the Aluball.
That's how it works. There is no chant to learn you can't take mine it won't be real.
You need to do what feels right . Feel the the way things are and how theywant to be ... if kava tells you to keep rubbing it in water and you think we'll there no way I can extract more kavalactones then you will miss something more special then kavalactones. Follow what she says and when she's done she'll tell you. Kava can be very specific and it loves it but it won't hurt you for not respecting him just won't feel the kava very much .

I once put 2 real tobacco leaves on my tonoa and it felt like 2 friends reunited through me .. a nice puff of tobacco real tobacco through a. Pipe not inhaled is very nice after a shell or two of kava

There's a few ways I can think of. Honour and respect the peoples and their cultures, those who nurtured the root for thousands of years so it would be preserved for humanity as a sacred trust. Try not to be too frivolous with kava. By all means have fun, it's a fun plant, but also try not to abuse it. You know what I mean. Try not to waste too much of it, if you can avoid it. Be honest when you talk to others about kava, and don't spread any lies about it, positive or negative. Oh, and don't forget to drink water and then blame kava for making you feel bad.

I'm not sure where to get kava stuff from. You can honor kava by throwing makas back into the dirt instead of trash.
Absolutely. Everybody should compost if they can.

But don't throw your peanut shells on the ground outside the house. Kava spirits are super chill, but you do NOT want to risk nakaemas blong peanut. Mi talem stret. ;)

Very sound advice, thank you Mr. Krunkface. Did I mention you listening to Jethro Tull on your tape being awesome? Oh well. The water part, yes, I've definitely been trying to increase my drinking of it these last days. I very rarely drank water that wasn't flavoured and carbonated before now. I might have been too eager bulaing to the hula, relative to my water intake, which might have been the cause of some uncommon tummy activities, what even seems like constipation. Toss and wash micronized.

It's not too remarkable. I have a lot of Jethro Tull 8 tracks. I even have the two original quadraphonic ones they made, Aqualung and War Child.

I use it every day except when i just forget too .. like i keep putting it off and then if i think of trying to force it it just feels wrong ... and i know it .. so ill usually enjoy my increased appetite and ability to eat without interfering with the kava on those days ... gives you a mental break.. i should maybe do it more.. but idk i dont drink alot of kava any way more like krunkie where i use it low dose systemically and when i feel recreational and i know the days the day when the kava just smells like heaven ill make a really strong batch and create an atmosphere for it and relax the rest of the night and fall asleep krunk lol. I do the same thing with the other herb mary.. but shes less forgiving than kava but very forgetting :p

The beauty of Kava is that a new Kava culture is born where ever it travels. As a communal beverage, honor Kava by sharing and drinking with others. Conversing online while drinking kava like you are now with others who are doing the same is in it's own way honoring kava.
