How long will extracts keep unopened?

Hello ParadiseKava!  New to the forums, but I LOVE your extracts - I like them better than the powder (ha- I don't think I have a good 'system' for the powder yet, plus, the extract is just tooooo easy spoon and go).

Question for you - due to some medical issues, I will not be taking any kava (or alchohol, etc) for about 3 months - after that time I hope to resume with kava.  How long does an unopened jar of extract 'keep'?  How about an open jar, that has always been in the refrigerator?

Any help is appreciated!
