@Kavafied I've often wondered if you ground the particle size down small enough, would you end up with sort of a gray hard paste, and there it is! I noticed when I was grinding down some instant that once you approach a certain particle size it almost appears wet.

It is weird, the particles are so fine, that you can almost shapeshift it. We were also to remove most of the Makas before this to make it a quality micro/instant

You know what just went off in my head reading this? You know I've been making my own instants and grinding them. Well, if I just took a bag of kava root and milled it long enough would it just turn into micronized and avoid all the trouble of dehydrating? Just a thought.

That is how traditional micronized root is made. At the mill like say monteray bay spice co. they'll do a pass and then replace the mesh screen to a smaller micron rating and do another pass. You repeat until you get to the particle size you want. Thats what makes it more expensive because each pass through the mill is extra labor and machine cost.

So @Kavafied what about makas? Let's get this right, the makas is the hard outer coating of the root, is that right? And there is makas in most med grind that you buy commercially? If so how would I remove that or is it too late as it's mixed up?
