I'm not new to kava, but I'm new to this forum and I'm a new customer to "Gourmet Hawaiian Kava". So I just ordered a 1lb bag of medium grind Papa Kea from them, and I'm hoping it is as good as people here say it is.
My usual form of kava preparation is to put a teaspoon of soy lecithin into 3 cups of real hot water. I let it sit a while until the water is at room temperature, and then I fill a small musiln bag with several tablespoons of kava and start kneading the bag in the water. After about 20 minutes I'll strain the kava and drink some, maybe a third or a half of it. I could drink the entire preparation and not really get hit very hard. Usually it chills me out and makes getting to sleep real easy. It makes me wonder if if my old kava source (KKF) was very good, so I have great hopes for the Papa Kea.
Anyone know where I can order a bunch of muslin bags? I'd like to order a dozen or so but don't want to pay a lot for them as they get holes in them after being used to make a few batches of kava.
Edit: Just ordered some GHK M'oi too. This is going to be good.
