Kava after Root canal?

Bula,
It has been a while since i have been on the site and have certainly missed you guys. I hope maybe i can gather some insight. I had 2 root canals 2 days ago. I would much rather drink kava then take the hydrocodone and Nsaids that have been prescribed for the pain. Does anyone know if Kava kava causes any issues or is there a risk of infection? I am thinking I should probably just play it safe and not drink any root for a few more days.

Me too. Be careful what other pain meds you take at the same time as kava but if you're just going to drink kava then you're fine. I think I switched to kava the day after my root canal.

Kava isn't going to increase risk of infection. Kava will tie up liver enzymes involved in metabolizing the hydrocodone which in theory would make it stronger but in reality, that has not been the case for me. Using the hydrocodone during the day for pain and kava at night for sleep worked for me, for many months with no issues. Using both at the same time just seems gross...

If I was doped it on pain meds I'd probably avoid Kava.
