Kava and Zoloft

Hey guys! I am currently taking Zoloft and I am wondering if there are any interactions with kava and Zoloft? Or, are any of you currently or have taken the two together? Thanks!

Kava does have some maoi properties that could muck with an anti depressant, but I doubt it would be significant for most people. I would say you could safely experiment without much risk.

Personally I wouldn't do it. Kava is Gabaergic, an MAOI, an NRI, and a DRI (and potentially, but not confirmed SSRI). The possibility for interaction is huge.

I waited about a month to get off Cymbalta (an SNRI) before trying Kava
