While it's a drug in the way you can say "Coffee is a drug", it's far from a "get you messed up" substance. I think people who claim that it is are actually discrediting themselves more than they realize. Those people who are expecting that quick fix are going to get quite a nasty surprise when they harf down that first shell, and then come back and think that person was an idiot because it either did nothing at all or made them a bit sleepy.
