What's new

kava has already changed my life

Sacred Journey

Kava Curious
I am very new to kava, but I just wanted to make a post about how much it has helped me already. I am a long time anxiety sufferer and ardent spiritual seeker. A big reason for my excessive spiritual search was because I believed/hoped that it would help me with my anxiety. Instead, I think it actually created more anxiety a lot of the time. I have used nearly every psychoactive plant/mushroom I could get my hands on. Many of them produced incredible spiritual insight and revelation, and yet somehow none of it seemed to help me overcome my anxiety.

Then I found kava, and a new way of living/being opened up for me. I am still an anxious person, but much less so having found kava. It has allowed me to experience states of tranquility and relaxation which I did not even know existed before I began drinking kava. I usually drink about one tablespoon of the 11 year waka and then I feel peaceful.

I really like the 11 year waka a lot and while I wanted to try something new, I was afraid I might end up with a kava I did not like as much so I decided to go ahead and order more 11 year waka. However, I would still like to expand my horizons and am open to suggestions for other types. I like the 11 year waka because it is smooth and gentle while still being strong, rather than hard hitting like some other kavas I have had. I am curious how you guys who have tried it, would describe the effects of the 11 year waka compared to other kavas?

I feel as though we're in the same boat my friend ... although I didnt take that stuff for anxiety . It seems to have brought more anxiety to my life. Due to a pretty intense and seemingly dangerous dmt overdose. Overdose in the sense of too much .. I haven't been the same about psychedelic states since :/. Kava definitley helps relax the overstimulation I get from time to time. But I too need gentle kavas or it makes it worse :/

Ahhh, the deemsters. Once was enough for me. I went into a deep depression for six months or so after vaping too much nn-d m t at once. It made me question my existence. Never again... Considering mj gives me the willies, I don't know why I tried that stuff. Especially how much I took. I'm glad I went to the restroom before I tried it.

The 11-Year, in my experience, gave me a relatively sedating, "zonking" feeling compared to other kavas. It seemed to me to be on the heavier end of the spectrum, but not super potent, as it took several tablespoons to get the effect.

You have a whole spectrum to choose from, roughly described as "heavy" to "heady", but actually a whole 6 dimensional hyperspace, considering the synergistic effects of the main 6 kavalactones. For heady there is Mo'i, Puoni Ono (KWK), KavaBoy, Nambawan (BKH). For heavy there is Mahakea, Hanakapi'ai, Borogoru. One of my favorites for anxiety relief is Borongoru from Kalm with Kava--it's interesting: not really either heavy or heady but good for anxiety.

If you like 11-Year, you might also like the Fijian from BKH, kind of similar in feeling (both being Fijian)

Kava keeps me going.
Another order going in to Kalm with Kava! I am really in need of some major anxiety relief. Borongoru hopefully will do the deed!!

That's interesting that you find the 11 year to be sedating; I find it to be very mood lifting and quite energizing for a kava. It's very different from anything I've tried and I have enjoyed it quite a bit
