Kava ice cream! (Patent pending:-) )

Yeah I think that's why a mild instant or concentrate would be nice. I think I'll try to. Mike @Kalm with Kava! I need some more koncentrate, stat!
Kalm already tastes like orange creamsicle. Why not work with that?
if I ever hear from @Kalm with Kava , I might try that. I do have a few ideas I need to try out first though.
Although I'm pretty sure a natural kava flavored ice cream would not be a commercial success, I want to try it out as a basis to test out other flavors. One of my favorites of all time is a chocolate/habanero ice cream.
More about that later this week.

Why don't you make the whole base then dump it all in an ice cream maker or kitchenaid. The ultra fine micro or instant should pose no problem.

As long as the blades make actual contact with the freezer barrel you shouldn't have any issues with instant kava being dispersed. The blades will fold any particulate back into the ice cream during production. Be sure to add dextrose, but if you've made your own ice cream you'll already know that. I personally don't see any reason why this wouldn't work with instant kava.

Parfait is simply whipped cream and egg yolks whipped with sugar. Then folded together and frozen. You have to leave it out of the freezer for 10minutes and it's parfait (perfect).
For gelato, I've used salt or no salt. Never dextrose though. I'm pretty sure instant would work fine. However, I am now trying to work out a way to serve this as a dessert. That would mean extract or kava candy.

That is one aspect. To have a nice kava mood with the guests after a non alcoholic dinner.

Also I think the traditional method or instant will work great as a granitê. I make a mean champagne granité some times as a palet cleanser between starter and entrée and those dinners are always a success. If I can somehow make a balanced, but potent kava, honey, ginger/lime/coconut, chili granité it should work great as a replacement for welcome drinks.

Followed by some cured game and pickled veggies.

Fish, maybe a turbot. Oven roast with lime and chili and a fresh tabbouleh on the side.

Then the kava ice cream for desert (extract and or candy).

I'm thinking this could be great for a session introducing a few of my closest friends to kava.

Any thoughts?

Thoughts? The only thing I can think is that this is an awesome idea. If you go ahead be sure to take many pictures for us to drool at.

I want the flavor of the kava to be present in the granité, I think it's a challenge to balance it out. I'm Pretty sure freshness, spices and acidity is key to make the entire meal work as a whole. Then a scoop or two of the dissolvent ice cream.

I just tried @Paradise Kava 's honey lemon extract and that would be kick ass in an ice cream! Question is how much extract for 0,5l of ice cream?
I want it to be strong enough so that you'll only need a scoop or two.

@Steve had a great idea to use the kava candies as sprinkles. I've yet to receive mine, but if anyone of you have any try and let me know in this thread about your experience. I'm Thinking any creamy fruity ice cream or sorbet would work. I'm leaning towards coconut myself.

That sounds like a big awesome meal to fill up on before kava dessert. Typically this negates the effects of drinking kava. Sublingual is supposed to bypass that though. So maybe make kava ice cream melts that you allow to dissolve in your mouth? I don't know, just blabbin.

I've been hella busy the past few months. Back when I made these plans I did NOT work 70hrs a week. :pompus:
But, I feel like this is something that must be done. And, like my grandmother always said "Shit don't change until you wash your ass!".
I am currently waiting on more candy from @Steve , instant from @Global Kava Exports and instant plus plus from @Adil Ghiasi .
I think 2016 is most realistic for the first real update to this thread.

So yeah.
Update.
I know people mix their kava with milk.
So, I was thinking what if I took a handsome amount of instant moi and added that to the gelato mix?
Flavor wise, it would be just sweetened kava the first batch.
When my latest order from GHK gets here, I'll give it a whirl.

What about the old school method of making ice pops, you know those trays you pour your mix into and then put it in the freezer, that might be the most inexpensive way of trying it.

Had these and they actually tasted pretty good while packing a decent punch. They said they had to use an extract to make them
