As far as I can gather, there are some local holidays, and it's just kind of a known thing to take some time off this time of year.

Yeah absolute nightmare trying to get Kava at Christmas and in the month or two afterwards as well. The weather does go a bit mental though with Cyclones so I know this has something to do with it.

Thanks for sharing this with us Henry, I just wish I could pay $6 US per Kilo of good Noble Vanuatu kava. Wow, $6 us dollars, , imagine how much kava is in $6 worth of kava, 1 kilo that's how much. .
I must resist the urge to move to Vanuatu. Well it's not all that bad here in Hawaii so I guess I will continue to pay a higher price for now.
Really Henry, thanks for posting this, it is amazing how popular kava is now compared to right after the you know what with Germany in the late 1990's. Aloha.

Even kava from Efate (the island of Port Vila not known for any great kava) is now more expensive ($4 per kg!)
