Kava Tonga Root Chips

Great Kava always comes to those who wait. Due to drought, demand, prices etc..most of the Kava left on 'Eua right now are less than 3 years old. It took my aunties in our village over 6 months to seek out enough export worthy Kava from the very few mature plants left. Thankfully we will finally have it in for processing next week. I've got a few inquires about buying Tongan root chips so I thought I'd ask if anyone else wanted to reserve some to buy whole before we get it processed into powder form. This will be a very limited batch and have no time table for when we plan on offering our staple Kava Tonga again.

We will be keeping our focus there to planting what we had brewing in our small nursery as September in 'Eua is the most ideal time for planting out in the bush oh ya and the AluBottle ::aluball::::alubottle::::shell::

When I see a picture like that, I know it is coming straight from the farm with no pesky middlemen messin' with it. There is nothing better than Farm to Market Kava Tell your aunties to keep up the good work and we appreciate them.

Thank God!
@Kavafied I've often wondered if whole root or root chips would convey an advantage over powder. Would it potentially be more like green kava, or stronger, or some other advantage?

One advantage is less surface area exposed to the air, so it could potentially retain it's (dry) maximum potency longer in whole root form than in powder form. It doesn't matter so much if you buy the powder from a vendor soon after they've powdered it, because not enough time would have passed for any significant loss of kavalactones to occur yet. But, hypothetically, if a vendors powdered kava were to sit in the warehouse for six months to a year(or two) before you purchase it, then the whole root should be a bit more potent at that later date after you powder it yourself.
Unfortunately, irreversible changes occur when fresh kava is dried and soaking dry whole roots won't make it more like fresh kava.

Another advantage of whole roots, for some people, would be that they can choose to grind it how ever they want. They could micronize it, they make a chunkier grind or they could just chop into chunks to chew on throughout the day.

I say grind it all up and send it to me ;) My kava Tonga arrived today and is wonderful. Very euphoric like Matt said.
