Kona Kava (full spectrum paste)

Hello! I’m new to Kava Forums and a novice when it comes to Kava, in general. About a month ago, I purchased a 1oz. jar of Kona Kava’s Full Spectrum 55% extract paste from Kava.com and have used about half of it, so far, and have felt no effects from it. I knew something was up after my 1st dosing, but continued to use it, as I had paid $70 USD for it. After learning (through this forum) that KK is not a reputable brand, despite being made in an FDA-approved lab w/ GMP certification - which, of course, made me feel like it was an ok place to start for a more potent Kava product - some questions were raised. I’ve tried Gaia Herbs’ formulation in the past & felt nothing, as well (I’m under the impression they’re a reputable brand, but, again, no effects were felt) Anyway, there’s so much conflicting information on the web about contaminated herbal products on the web (heavy metals, etc.) that I’m at a bit of a loss.

So, my first question is: has KK’s products made anyone sick, especially from the Gold, or Full Spectrum 55% extract paste? Or, has it been more of a reduced potency issue? And, secondly, what’s a good instant formulation to give me a better idea of what high quality kava is supposed to feel like?

There’s plenty to read on this forum (which I intend to do), but any direct feedback would be helpful.

Thanks!

Thank God!
Extracts taste terrible. No way around that. If you look up the outdated price sheet listed on the forum site, you'll find a list of reputable dealers. Kava depot, Kalm with Kava, and others carry extracts at times.
