Legality of kava in iceland

I’m having trouble finding a current answer as there is some conflicting info. Is kava legal in Iceland. Thanks if you know the answer.

I know a few people who have imported it without any issues either from within the EEA (eg from our distributor kavaeurope.eu) or even from outside the EU. But I have been told that actual sale of kava within Iceland is restricted.
