Been enjoying Chris' products for quite a while now. Everything I have ordered has been beyond my expectations. After trying Moi instant as well as Nene, Pana'ewa, and Boroguru micronized I want to try medium grind for a more traditional experience.

So I just ordered half a pound of Boroguru med grind because I found that strain to be well balanced in effects. I was drinking anywhere from 2 to 4 tbsp micro. What would this translate into for a med grind grog? 1.5, 2 times the amount? Thanks in advance for any insight.

Yeah, I'd say 2x, also depending on the fineness of the filter bag you're going to use. More sediment in your grog = more potency. But with medium grind, the sediment includes the makas which can cause stomach upset and suuuuper stinky gas.

Thanks guys. I plan on using two knee high stockings to filter. I'm wondering if this is going to be more economical than micronized or relatively similar since I need to use twice as much per session. I do enjoy a long night with 4 tbsp Boroguru micronized. ;) So I'm estimating I'll also enjoy 8+ tbsp med grind nights just as well, but may not get very many servings from a half pound bag.

I think economically it's about the same, unless you include the time it takes to do traditional prep. I really like micronized because of the convenience, but you're paying more for that, and obviously for the process of micronizing the root, as well as (with GHK) the removal of the makas. So, financially I think it evens out, and it just comes down to what you want to do.

Traditional prep is fun, once you get into it, but it's not for everyone it seems. I believe my next round of ordering I'll be going back to micro simply for the convenience.

I also notice (and wrote this in another thread), that the effect of micro is somehow "sharper" than medium grind. I think that has to do with taking the sediment into your gut. You're ultimately getting more kavalactones with micro, IMO. But I would personally be careful to only get micro that has the makas removed. Maka gas is the worst kind of gas!
