Judd, I'm not sure why but the Borogu you sell is one of the best kavas for me, the effects are strong but not too strong and the headiness is perfect. I'd love to see the Borogu in a micronized version, though. I noticed there isn't much micronized kava on your site, if any. I see there is instant. Any reason for this? Any plan to dabble into the micronized market? I can tell you I'd definitely be a buyer of micronied Borogu! :)

Mostly curious, appreciate a response!

Thanks for the input, @Weioo. We do have one micronized kava, the 11 Year Waka, but you're right, we don't have anything else. Micronizing kava properly requires a fairly expensive piece of equipment, and our suppliers do the processing. Convincing them to purchase a micronizer when most drinkers prefer traditionally ground would be difficult. I'm also not totally stoked on micronized personally, at least not enough to push making it a large part of what we sell. The fact is, when you drink micronized kava you ingest 100% of all compounds present. This includes things like Flavokavain B, which is very poorly extracted (under 10%) when using water to make a traditional drink. I justify selling 11 Year micro because it has a much lower concentration of FKB than any other kava I, or the lab I used, has ever seen. I really do appreciate your input, and the desires of our customers are what drive our decisions, so I will definitely take your preferences into consideration.

And yes, please submit a review for the traditional grind Borogu. It's really a great kava and we don't have many reviews of it up here yet. Thanks!

Bula!

Should this be interpreted negatively? I like micronized kava.

No. It's just a fact that I don't think many people consider. I like micronized too, it's super convenient. I just prefer traditionally prepared and because it's been done that way safely for so long, I'm 100% sure it's safe for myself and my customers. Micronized also is more likely to cause stomach discomfort and dermopathy. By pointing these things out I am simply trying to explain some of the reasons I don't pursue more micronized options, as a response to @Weioo's question. If micronized is the best option for you I think you should keep using it, and you are most likely completely safe.

@Summer Have you tried instant kavas? They're the best of both worlds because they're a dried aqueous extraction. Not quite as cost effective as micro but I think they taste much better because the good ones are made from fresh, undried kava root. We have an amazing one, which I linked to above, but other vendors sell good ones as well.

Thank you for the input because I am still learning. I also enjoy instant and am trying to understand exactly how to prepare traditional root as well.

@Summer Kava prep is super easy and pretty quick. Check out this video. People talk about all these crazy intense prep techniques but what I show on the video is what's been done for thousands of years and it works just fine. If it ain't broke...
