Missing Amazon Aluball Order

I ordered an aluball from Amazon prime on Jan 2nd and tracking says it’s awaiting the item since Jan 3rd. Anyone ever see the below tracking in bold and know what it means? I called Amazon and they seem to have no idea what’s going on with it. First they told me they called USPS and they said it would definitely be delivered on Friday. Then they retracted that to say it was incorrect. Now my Amazon says it’s not lost but they don’t know when it’ll be delivered. Strange.

It probably means that the place where amazon was storing the product made a shipping label and took it to the post office; but it hasn't been sufficiently been processed by the post office yet for them to acknowledge having received it (or the post office goofed and forgot to enter its tracking info???). I am not a prime member and was annoyed cause it almost felt like amazon was sitting on my order in order to make sure that it doesn't accidentily come early (maybe I was just being cynical, but it made me wonder if they want to make sure I feel that I am missing out by not getting prime).

Yeah, somebody goofed. I’m guessing Amazon since they blatantly lied to me and said USPS had it and then retraced it. Mistakes happen, no big deal. I just wish I know what was going on with it. The whole reason I ordered it from Amazon was to get it in 2 days, otherwise I’d have ordered it straight from Kavafied. If it’s not here by tomorrow I’m going to ask for a refun and do that.

I agree with you that amazon sits in packages but I don’t think the purpose is to prevent you from getting it early. I think they’re prioritizing their shipments based on the shipping speed chosen. So one day gets pushed ahead of prime and prime is pushed ahead of the free shipping with $25 order and that’s pushed ahead of 2-3 day shipping and so on and so forth. And then they prioritize those ahead when their timeframe is running out. I think an average shipping day for them is probably prioritizing items that will be late if they don’t ship that day and then I do more if they can. It’ll look like your item is sitting there unshipped, and it is, but it’s prpbably because they get so many orders that they have a system in place about how to prioritize them.
