New To Kava Like Everyone Else New To Kava!

Kava Curious
Hello! I am a former happy hour (beer and spirits) rat making a switch to yerba mate and now kava. I am fortunate to be within a half hour's drive of a kava bar. However, I have recently placed an order with Bula Kava House for some micronized 11 Year Waka. I realize that the best experience might involved some half-shells, a blender, and some panty hose but I simply don't have time for another "process" in my life. I am hoping this waka will replace what I previously enjoyed about that third or fourth beer (and usually pizza and nachos). I am a little worried that last night I enjoyed the boroguru a bit more than the waka. I liked how it captivated my body a little more. I am wondering what the 11 Year Waka from BKH will be like. To be honest, the price is hard to beat. However, I can get some boroguru from Gourmet Hawaiian Kava for just a few bucks more. Maybe I will mix the two? Yet to be determined!

Mixing kava is fun. I have a bag that's got like 4 different things in it. The "Mojo" ::nowayyyz::

Welcome to the tribe.::happyshell::

I even have special rules for mixing kava.

Rule #1 Before adding it to the mojo, try each kava on its own. Review it. For me this is a show of appreciation for the differences of each kava and for all the people that make it possible for us to have it. it's also to make sure the kava fits into what you want in your particular bag of mojo. This is my most important rule.

Rule #2 Keep it Noble. This is more of a guideline. If Tudei is your thing more power to ya.

I just took an inventory and my mojo is made up of:

Borogu
Marang Marang
Boroguru
Hanakapi'Ai
Pouni Ono
Borongoru

Wow, that's some seriously full-specrum mojo.

I'm not familiar with Marang Marang, what's that like?

Highest level of mojification for me so far is 3-way blend. I haven't progressed beyond that really.

I wonder what a 1:1:1 Moi', Nene, Papa Kea blend would be.
