Hello guys, I'm new to Kava and would appreciate if you could tell me if everything I do is alright or not.
I tried micronized Fiji Kava a few times now on empty stomach.

When I took 5g I didn't notice much of it and believed it might be placebo. Then I increased it so 10g-15g, tried it a few times and here are some effects that kicked in after about 30 minutes: I felt like my vision was delayed and shaky, like when I'm a bit drunk, for about 30 minutes. It's not taking over my body and I can controll it but it requires concentration. After that my mood gets better for about a hour followed by a relaxed and sedative feeling and another few hours later I just become tired.

Is it ok? Do I need to get used to it first? Or do I overdose?

Sounds quite a bit like a high dose, but your dose was really low, so you're probably a light weight.
Sometimes when you're new to kava, the whole array of effects aren't always apparent, but certain effects can be more noticeable.
Sounds like you had a pretty good experience to me, so long as you weren't overly nauseated to the point where it ruined your peace & enjoyment.

I was a bit worried the first time but the tiredness afterwards is the worst. Normally I have issues falling asleep but I don't like being forced to sleep if it's not the time. Maybe I need to try a different strain.

The tail-end of a kava experience will typically always be sedation and sleepiness, this is especially the case with strong doses and/or 'heavy' kava strains. It's actually one of the main benefits of kava, but many people can avoid the extreme sedation by drinking 'heady' kava, which in most people (but not all) will produce a lighter, more whimsical and less hypnotic effect. In general though, kava is classicly an end of the work day type of drink and is meant to give you a nice sleep, after a couple hours of pleasant relaxation.

Heady is something I'm looking for right now, thanks for your contribution. Anyways, I was able to counter the sleepiness with caffeine+l-theanine. Felt great but not sure if that's unhealthy.
