Say NO to Monkey Butt

K

Kava Steve

Hello everyone,
I have to say I am glad I found this place and GHK... cant wait until my micros arrive.

While I am waiting to do some micro experimentation I wanted to see who else finds Kava Java the way to go... what I mean by this is preparing kava via any of the methods and then when it is done mixing in some caramel coffee creamer?

I actually stumbled across this by accident with vanilla coffee creamer but have only tested it against KAVA KAVA powder.... What I found when adding vanilla coffee creamer to the KAVA is it suddenly tasted like caramel which my wife who refuses to drink kava saying its like a punch in the face actually enjoyed it.

I tried some of the recipes on this site but found them to be far worse than just drinking kava straight. Adding banas caused me to be bloated and every drink made me want to hurl which is odd since I love bananas. Adding ginger ale and pomegranate juice smells like monkey butt. no thanks.

So for those interested you can make caramel a few ways (hint: organic maple syrup and butter in a hot pan) and add it to organic cream or you can buy the caramel coffee creamer just keep in mind the amount of calories you are taking in.... maybe next I will try condensed sweet milk mixed with a can of boiled condensed sweet milk (someone told me doing this produces caramel flavoring) and kava... might be a little better on the calories dont know.

I have been experimenting with Kava concoctions myself (It kills the flavor of Ovaltine). I have a bit of an allergic reaction to Kava, so I tend to keep my heavier usage on the weekends. BUT, I do make a cold brew coffee (2 cups starbuck in 32oz mason jar fill with water, shake, let sit over night, strain and refrigerate) and add about 1/2 tablespoon of Moi instant. It dont mess up the coffee too much. I then will use half and half and add 2 parts water to one part coffee. This gives me a little boost on top of the caffeine without any major allergic response. My allergic response is much higher if I use medium grind toss and wash, so I have to filter ALL of the makas out. Using GHK's micro and other instant brands helps keep this down. Hopefully as time progresses, these small doses in the morning will desensitize my reactions. These reactions are limited to itching watery eyes and a nasal drip drip drip.

I do Ginger Ale and Micro and it doesn't taste like Monkey butt to me. I know, you forgot the lime. :hungry: But maybe I have acquired a taste for Monkey Butt. I wonder if they grill Monkey Butt in Africa? I wonder if they buy $12,000K BBQ rigs and have contests to see whose Monkey Butt is the best? I wonder why I'm fixated on Monkey Butt?

The only mixer I've found suitable with kava is water. It's taken me years to circumvent my taste aversion to kava, and adding any extra flavors would probably set me back to the start line.

I've posted this several times, but I'll say it again.... I really really like Kalm with Kava as a mixer with my Moi. It not only gives it an extra kick to my Moi, but actually comes close to making it taste good. More like monkey dick instead of butt. :)

I knew the Monkey Butt topic would bring Hedgie out of the woodwork. You know, that does sound like a bad idea though. A Kava Kocktail with Kalm would be like a KamiKaze or a KalmyKazi. There ya go. @HeadHodge, you should post your recipe in the Kavapedia along with a warning for the kiddies. You know, don't do this in front of your parents and so on.

lol, I was in the middle of a session when I was reading another topic on kava vs monkey butt... I could not quit laughing so it kinda stuck. I forget which one of you proclaims to be an expert in monkey butt.

So far my favorite is straight chased with ginger ale but for an every once in a while treat or when introducing someone to kava the caramel and cream seems to be the way to go

Mango nectar and cinnamon was my fav combo. But I have used only water the last 6+ months. My wife prefers just water too. The taste seems to stick around for a shorter time and causes less bloating for us.
