Its official. Joined the forums and placed my first order less than a week ago. I got home today surprised to find my Gormet Hawaiian Kava Mahakea arrived earlier than expected. I ordered a traditional Fijian strainer earlier this week (currently in transit) but eager to try this stuff out, I drove down to the supermarket and picked up a pack of knee highs. Made about 3 cups of kava, needless to say I'm no expert in reverse tolerance but I'll admit it delivered a fair kick on the first go...That or I ignorantly made too strong of a batch. As far as taste goes, it honestly wasn't as bad as expected. I down raw hemp protein on a regular which has a comparable fibrous earthy taste. To say the least, I'm very pleased with the product thus far and look forward to it getting even better with RT and as I acquire further knowledge and skill in the craft of kava. As of now I'm at a state of heavy relaxation vibing to my favorite tunes. Kudos to Chris and GHK for supplying such a fine product. I'll be sure to pick up some of the micronized stuff the next time around.

P.S. That's some quick shipping! The time it took for my kava to travel across the pacific and to my doorstep is normally how long it takes for me to receive packages being shipped to me from my own state.

Kava Lightweight
My favorite definately and one of the first kavas I tried. Never really had RT myself largely due to Mahakea probably as well. Welcome to the forum, I'm a newb too and with the info available here I got off to a great start.

You may be a newb but that picture says you have it figured out! I know reverse tolerance is a popular topic around here and I thought I was subject to that myself but i'm starting to think differently about this. If you knead and strain your kava properly, and use enough to begin with, then you should get the effects the first time ever or the first time today. I'm starting to like the idea that @nemo has been going with, it's either strong kava or weak kava. I can probably explain my "reverse tolerance" experience to not following through with good kava making technique to begin with.

With the right amount of effort and time put in to making kava the traditional way, I always find good results follow.

Welcome!
