Yes, sounds selfish but makes sense. Also for me I am still spending less money on kava per month than I was spending on alcohol. Even if I had to pay double I would still be drinking kava.
I hear ya! Have you priced out the cost of good single malt scotch? For me, Kava is a bargain and more so since I'm more healthy with it than without it. Like I said the other day, "Cost of doing business". I'm sad for the Islanders who have to bear the unexpected spike in cost however. I pray they don't turn to cheap alcohol as a substitute.

Whatever happens, I hope everything gets back to some type of normal for the kava producing islands. With global temps on the rise I see a lot more crazy weather that will likely continue to effect these countries.
Any who I am grateful to all these hardworking farmers who do what they do.

Man this must really suck for the residents of Fiji. Kava is such an important part of their culture so I bet it will be a problem for their daily lives

People can (and are) cutting down on daily or weekend kava consumption, but they can't avoid the costs at family/village functions. Funerals have always been a heavy burden (you have to house and feed lots of people for four nights at a minimum and often up to a week). Kava sessions at funerals can start as early as 9am and go on until dawn. Families are forced to spend thousands of dollars on kava alone, and often fall into debt to meet these obligations.

I wonder if this is why my trusty Wakacon Fijan Waka has disappeared from Amazon. I seriously dont know what to do now.

At my level of consumption it made sense for the price. And being Prime shipping it made it easy to get. This really sucks.

Does anyone know the status of Kalm with Kava Pouni Ono?
According to Mike at KWK, Puoni Ono is no longer available due to supply problems in Tonga. He is looking for a replacement Tongan but has not been able to find a reliable source yet as far as I know.

That sucks because this is a really good heady Kava.
