Surviving Ian the Hurricane

Kava Synchronized
So this was our first day back on Sanibel Island since it was covered by the ocean to a depth of 8-15 feet. Lots of destruction, but there were bright spots, like finding our car’s title. And a few keepsakes. And three brands of kava proves to be truly water proof: see below. We’re drinking kava tonight about 30 miles inland at LaBelle, Florida. Nice view for Kelai drinking.

We're just above you on St. Pete Beach. It was good to have our Kava on hand during evacuate. Now, we just finished going through Tropical Storm Nicole. Mailman still delivered our Kava. Hope you are able to to rebuild soon. Our hearts go out to you and yours!!

Bula.

Thanks for the note. Nicole wasn't much of a storm here. After a couple days off, we're heading back to the island again today. Going through the second bedroom (we only had two) for what we might salvage. The beauty of southwest Florida seems to blind our minds to rationally thinking through the dangers of hurricanes here. Not to mention alligators. And the worst, no-seeums.
