Kava King isn't the strongest Kava out there. Ironically, it was the first Kava I ever tried (more than 15 years ago) and I enjoyed it very much.
Kava is not always what people think it is going to be. It is not an overwhelmingly intoxicating substance, which is actually a good thing. People who try Kava for the first time often complain that it is all cost and no benefit (bad taste, light effects). It is important to know what you are looking for with Kava. If you are looking for a beverage that can take the edge off, be a good hobby, or be something that you can enjoy with your friends with increased sociability, then it is probably good for you. If you are looking for a "legal high" or something that can replace alcohol or recreational drugs, then it is probably not the best thing for you.
I would suggest a Fijian or Tongan root that you can prepare yourself. Give it two or three tries to really understand the effects and how they play out.
