Have the Azores the right climate for some kava kava sorts?
They do not.

The natural growing region for kava is limited around Earth's equator to within the Tropic of Capricorn and the Tropic of Cancer (23.5 degrees north and south of the equator).

The temps and rainfall are far too low to be growing kava, on another note I would move to this climate in a hot second after the summer we've had here. That honestly looks fantastic for the human species.

Thank God!
Kumakua grows in Hawaii at higher, cooler elevations. Not a high kavalactone variety, but one of my favorites for overall effects, if you have enough. Personal preference. It should grow fine in the rainier parts of the Azores. Not Sao Miguel, perhaps, but the Western rainier islands. I remind people, that supposedly, many kavas can grow with 40 inches of rain a year.
