Kava, Kava
I'm also new to kava and plan to drink it daytime. Possibly right when i wake up then just go about my normal day of eating 3-5 meals. (i have a insanely fast matoblism, if i dont eat this much i will lose weight and im already very skinny.)

I'm not the norm on this one, but I find that eating before kava doesn't impact the experience. And that eating after kava doesn't impact the experience either.

I generally don't drink kava IMMEDIATELY after dinner (I tend to wait 30 minutes or so) but I've really not noticed any negative effects with food/kava excepting maybe once when I ate some starchy food in the middle of my kava session and sword that I felt some attenuation of effects for a while.

Food only stays in your actual stomach for 30 minutes, and then it's all in your small intestine. If kava is absorbed primarily in the stomach, you should be good to go after 30 minutes of resting. If it's absorbed more in the small intense (anyone know?) then you're talking about an hour at minimum and probably more.

The 40-60 minute effects onset has me thinking that it's probably a combination of stomach and small intestine absorption.

Steve-o is right about the timing. Sometimes food intensifies the effects. Other times it mitigates it. It's really all about trial and error and finding out what works for your physiology.

The other day I drank too much Kava on an empty stomach. I began feeling really drowsy, a bit nausea and lightheaded, so after 1 hour I ate a high-carb meal which made me feel good and comfortable again :) I def. think that food can help you manage your krunk'ness, especially if you'r a newbie like me and are trying things out:hungry:

I'll echo what was said. Trial and error is the only way. I have had experiences all over the board with food. Sometimes positive and some negative. I've noticed (perceived) added effect from hotter meals vs cold ones at times as well! More often than not it seems a warmer meal with more fat/protein fits the bill for me as well.

It's truly a mystery but, seeing as I love food, a fun one to explore and experiment with!

@HeadHodge turkey rolled with cream cheese and pickled asparagus is my go to.

3.5 feet of bacon wrapped cust, and bacon crumbles on the top. I died 3 times while eating it, and ascended to a porky heaven only to wake and find myself still in this world. I have not experienced something quite so euphoric since KFC released its double down consisting of bacon, mayo and cheese sanwiched between 2 pieces of fried chicken. This seems a well worthy investment of 12.50. Iimagine it would also make a great breakfast - cold even, if leftovers were possible.

all fairness, I only died once with this.
