At this point in my life, kava dermopathy doesn't bother me, but due to a freak of divinity, it bothers Queen Elizabeth II. I drink the kava, she gets the dermopathy. And she has it VERY bad.
Since she has multiple chemical sensitivities, but can use the old Burts Bees lip balm (warning, they have reformulated), we went to a natural food store to see if they had the Burts Bees Baby Lotion. They had a tester. She put way too much of it on her hands and begged me to take some of it for myself. I did. After a few minutes, her hands were fire-engine red and looked swollen to me. After 20 minutes, mine were burning where I had applied the stuff, though not as bad.
Since many of us do use hand lotion to combat the dermal effects of kava, especially in the winter months when the weather worsens, I thought I should warn that this is not a hypoallergenic product, and to use with exceeding caution.
