Definitely trolling. However, I think they wouldn't be if they told you to bury it in mangrove mud (at least that's what I recall hearing is sometimes used to darken their appearance, but it might've just been a dye made from the tree).I was on a website..and one review for a coconut shell states:
" Make sure you season the coconut first by peeing into it and sealing in the flavor."
Is this a troll or a real thing??
Wet sand works just as well. I think it's just a way to achieve moist anaerobic conditions.Definitely trolling. You could try making your own:Jokes aside, what are some good coconut shells everyone would recommend?
I highly recommend making your own bilo! It was very easy when following the youtube clip. It feels guuuud to be proud of oneself for making something of ones own. Every time I use my bilo, I can feel the strong independent cave woman inside of me nodding proudly of the otherwise not-so-handy-me. Silly but still nice. You could try making your own:

Uh... the kind from coconut trees?Jokes aside, what are some good coconut shells everyone would recommend?
I have one I made myself that I like best (mostly scraping it with broken glass). The other one I have my brother bought back in the late 1990's and I have no clue where he got it, but its pretty nice (but a little shallow for my preferences [b/c made from the non-pointy end of the coconut]).Jokes aside, what are some good coconut shells everyone would recommend?
