While I've never seen a kava plant in person, besides the cuttings I tried to grow back in the nineties, from what I've seen in pictures they look like they can get pretty big...

It'd be expensive grow them in greenhouses unfortunately. Bummer.

Some varieties stay pretty manageable in height, while others tend to grow more wildly and upward.
But I'd say the typical 4-5 yr old plant is only 5-10 ft tall. When they get left untouched for decades they can become monsters. @Gourmet Hawaiian Kava or @kasa_balavu could tell us about variances in cultivar height at harvesting age.
