Global Kava Exports Shipping On Hold

We are very sorry to announce that due to a complaint from the German BfArM to the Food Safety Authority of Ireland we have been ordered to stop all shipping of Kava. We believe that incorrect information has been passed on and outdated restrictions have been cited to the FSA by the BfArM and we are currently working with the FSA to rectify the situation and ensure Kava is not demonized as it was in Germany.

We are honouring all orders already made and if you have ordered, do not worry, your Kava is on its way to you. We have no idea how long this situation will last but we are concentrating all our efforts on a resolution which will see us return to supplying Kava as soon as possible.

We will keep you updated when we can. Thank you for your custom so far and thank you to all those who may not purchase from us but who are supporters of Kava around the world. We must ensure Kava continues to be available in Europe and we must now also make sure Kava is given a legal status where people can acquire it without fear of it disappearing from sale or it being denied to them by customs and the like.

Kava must be given the status it deserves with no more grey areas or lazy restrictions which enable authorities to treat it whatever way they feel like that particular day.

Thanks again for all the support and we will keep you posted.

Blimey! And this comes just a couple of weeks after another German court confirmed that kava ban had been unlawful and unreasonable
Wonder if they are lashing out by pursuing extrajudicial means now. And at the motivation behind this.

Best of Irish luck and keep a stiff upper lip (wait a minute... isn't viagra made in Ireland). Seriously, it sounds like the German authorities refuse to accept the court decision and are trying to get around it. I thought the Germans respected authority and a strong leader and ... ooh, better stop now.

Man, that sucks! What a bunch of bureaucratic crap. I hope you can get this straightened out quickly. I feel bad for all the people of Europe who rely on you for their kava and the fact that they're being denied something that's helping them immensely because of residual misunderstandings and bureaucratic busy-bodies. Bleh!

Sounds like copycats of another person I know who uses executive orders in unprecedented ways to circumvent law. ....ooh, I'm gonna stop now too. :)

Okay, let's save the rage-filled debates about politics & religion for our friends and family and focus on the kava here.
You guys are my friends and family!!! ::hugsmiley::

No worries, I don't normally like those topics. I just had a little slip.........

So very sorry Cian. I have always thought the Germans were hypocritical by banning Kava and not banning alcohol at the same time. I have done my share of both and alcohol is way more dangerous. Good luck! But for the life of me, I don't even understand why the Irish government even listens to them.

Oh no, gutting news. Being quite selfish here since I'll be back in the UK in the middle of the year :(
Are you able to share the letter with us, or go into more detail about exactly what they said? Was it very open-and-closed or did they provide an immediate means for appeal? What is the legal weight of their order?

If yo uare not going to fight it....many many years...possibly forever. The recent ruling which is in favour of kava, is not in effect yet, because stupid Bfarm appealed the decision. It will take probably another few years unti the next ruling.
