Diphenhydramine/ Benadryl can actually cause congestion issues if you take it to frequently. I go through a bit of it because I'm allergic to my doggie It has never once made me sleepy though, guess I'm strange.

I dont see the point in wearing gloves. If its safe enough for you to ingest it, its most definitely safe enough for your skin and for whatever minute amount of actives being absorbed by your skin.

Well when I kneaded without gloves, I didn't really notice numbness, but I did notice my skin peeling off my hands and San Andreas type fissures forming in my fingers.
