I clandestinely received another batch of Squanch kava recently, deep on the dark web, to compare it to my original experience with it. Anyone who's read any of my previous postings on it, won't find anything new here, because the experience was very consistent with my last.
Overall, I consider this to be a great, medium strength heady-centric kava. Very reminiscent of Mo'i, KavaBoy's Tongan and many other Polynesian 'White Kavas'. It actually feels much more similar to the Lawena kavas I've had, more so than wakas. The experience is very clean, pleasant and uplifting. Being largely heady and minimally sedating or nauseating allows for you to still be active and social while enjoying the effects, if you so desire. This is also one of the few kavas that has a relatively minimal affect on my appetite suppression, which allows me to enjoy my post kava meal a bit more than usual.
The scent of this, like a few other Fijian kavas I've had, has a hint of cinnamon candy to it. The prepared flavor loses the cinnamon, in favor of a light earthy, slightly creamy taste with very little lasting bitterness. It's absolutely one of the easiest kavas to drink. Although the kava doesn't seem to react particularly strong with me, the pleasant mood-lifting effect is readily noticeable even after the first shell. At dosages up to 12 Tbsp, I can start to feel the heavier kavalactones kicking in, which I tend to prefer. I feel like I could drink this one for many hours, similar to the way Fijians and Tongans enjoy doing. Very little next-day effects or possible side-effects, if any --- Good stuff, especially recommended who love full-on heady stuff or for newbies who fear bitterness.
