The problem I have with the bargain basement kavas (which I consider wakacon to be one) is that I have to drink more to get the same effect, sometimes as much as twice as much (was like this with best fiji). If I have a choice of going through two bags of 30 dollar kava or one 60 dollar kava I'd rather have the 60 dollar one and ration it, regardless of noble status.
This is probably why I'm not going to have kava for a month or two at a mininum.

my budget has always been low but 60 dollars used to get as much kava as I wanted to drink in a month even that felt like an expensive habit. I miss kavaboy, they took longer to ship than other vendors but you always new you were going to get something good when you placed an order.
A couple months ago I had some Vula Waka Fiji from Kalm with Kava which is selling for 49 dollars plus shipping and it's suitable for going a long way with a little, though I prefer headier ones. With shipping I think it works out to be just under $55 per pound if I do a bulk 6lb order. I haven't gotten wakacon in a while but if it's anything like I remember I'd rather have 22% less kava but have it be the KWK Vula Waka. Though right now even Vula Waka is out of the question. Someday I want to try a high end GHK to see if there's any diminishing returns.
At least Buddhist meditation is still free; I'm kind of shocked with how much that's helped my anxiety over the last few months. And there's always ashwagandha as long as all I want is to sleep deeply and lower my cortisol a bit. That stuff is dirt cheap compared to kava even if it doesn't do as much.
