Powdered Kava Review Melo Melo

I definitely understand why this is Judd's favorite. The potency is noticably lower but not by much, however I would say that the effect is more significant. It's similar to Nambawan in terms of effects where it's a heady kava, but one that is not too uplifting but rather relaxing. It's almost targeted to relax the brain, much like the feeling I get from Nambawan. There's a noticable kavain effect there, but not as much as other more kavain dominant kavas. That's coming from someone who is pretty sensitive to kavain too.

The amount of muscle relaxation and body effects was actually nice and I wasn't really expecting there to be much of it. Granted, this isn't a full body kava, but it also is not all cerebral either. It's really a perfect mix (80 head/20 body) for me on a non-pain day.

The taste is more mild than Boroguru, for instance, but it still has that distinctly earthy/bitter/peppery taste that I associate with Vanuatu kavas.

I would agree with kavadude, this is underrated. Definitely going to keep this around.

@HeadHodge If you want to convert this to the newer format, I'd give it 4 shells for sure. I know it's a widely talked about and popular kava so I hope my review would help!

@HeadHodge it seems we can only edit the written part of the review and not the number of shells...
That's because you are editing the post and not the thread. When viewing your review, you should see in the upper right part of the screen a button called "Thread Tools". When you click on it, you should see in a drop down list an option to edit the thread. That's the one you need to edit. Let me know if you can't find those options and I'll check into the permissions you have to edit a thread you have created. Actually, let me know how it goes either way, please.

Cool review. IMO though, this kava (or at least the latest batch) has an amazingly intensive (and rather unpleasant) flavour when I use my usual amount of water to prepare it. As Judd explained under my review of Melo Melo, one should use at least 25% less powder with this new batch.
Yeah, the taste of this batch was pretty bad as well. Not like the overwhelmingly unpleasant "Stone", but definitely up there in the bad tasting varieties. That being said, it's still worth the taste IMO based on the effect profile.

Hey everyone,
@shakas is reporting a problem:
you may have noticed this already, but the new reviews since we were workin' on that problem the other day...show up with a piece of code in it like:
{@ReviewForm_ProductName.Title}
{@ReviewForm_ProductName.Value}

{@ReviewForm_TypeList.Title}
{@ReviewForm_TypeList.Value}
Anyone else seeing this too? I'm not on either of my browsers and am unable to duplicate his problem.

No he is referring to just viewing reviews (not editing his own). But that's a great example of what Henry G should be able to see when he edits his own reviews.

Oh no, I'm definitely not experiencing that with the "Kava Forums Original Green Theme" and Google Chrome browser.

Hi @HeadHodge ,sorry it's taken me so long to reply. I can edit the custom fields now, but I still cannot edit the number of shells :( Thanks for your help though!
Are you sure? The shell rating is all the way at the bottom of the form (next to the "Brief Rating" field). Please check and let me know, and I'll get it fixed.
If you can't see it, what is the last field you can see on the form?

The thing is that I cannot scroll down the menu with cutom fields. It just rolls down together with the website and stays in the same position not allowing me to see any fields below "mental effects". Perhaps it's my browser (chrome). I can try a different one at home later.
Hi,
@shakas is having the same problem as you. @Kapmcrunk is working on the problem, but in the mean time here is a work around, by changing the zoom on your browser, from Shakas:

for now, I just updated the grind size section and went into 25% browser size to click the save button. (y)
