Amlactin/dermopathy question

The Amlactin is awesome, but can burn something awful if you have red or irritated dermopathy. My hands stay in a constant state of dermopathy dryness, what helps me the most is greasing them up real good at night with Badger Balm, O'keeffe's Working Hands Cream or Amlactin for daytime. Incidentally, I also discovered that a chemical hair depilatory like "Veet" will also remove the dry skin dermopathy from hands, as well as some chemical facial peels (some of which have a really high percentage of lactic acid - eats that dead skin right off).

Has anyone had success with a moisturizing body soap just to take inertia off the dermopathy, or to look halfway presentable as a human being? I started a generic moisturizing body wash which I guess is better than normal drying soap, but not really. It would be a good solution because you cover the surface area of your body in the shower automatically, whereas Amlactin (which I ordered) I assume you have to spontaneously get naked and rub it on every square inch of skin while the fumes scare women and animals away. Don't get me wrong, Amlactin is an awesome discovery by infraredz I think, but adding to it is good.

^^^ Man, I can tell you what not to use. Don't use that exfoliating apricot scrub. I used that on my face, I scrubbed a little hard, and wow, did it make things 10 times worse. My whole face broke out with it. Ouch.

I went a really long time without ever having it. I noticed once I finally started getting it, it's been on on-going likelihood that I will see some hints of it starting every couple weeks or so. I catch it early with amlactin for a few days, then I'm good for a while. And I usually continue on drinking kava the whole time. If you let it go where you're really rashed out and raw...the amlactin might be too painful. If it seems to get too noticeable...I just stop drinking kava for a couple weeks and it goes away...it seems to flare up a couple days after stopping and then starts going away. But now it starts creepin' back not too long after resuming.
I do 8 tablespoons most days. 1 pound probably lasts me 2 weeks or so, depending. The fact that you're drinkng twice a day probably gets you to dermo-zone faster.

If you're accustomed and have a liking to the scent of coconut oil; than organic unrefined coconut oil does wonders to moisturize the skin; or lessen the dermopathy, at least for moi.

Organic refined if you don't have that preference because it does not carry the scent (what I prefer) ; whilst also having multitudinous uses ranging from baking or stir fries, making grilled cheese, helping to regulate different functions within and general all around uses (100 +) etc.

And for those concerned about greasiness; don't worry this stuff soaks in rather quickly; especially with dermopathy being the target.

Coconut oil is much safer than vegetable oils or canola oils; many of which are derived from genetically modified sources that personally I won't touch with a 10 foot stick. :nailbiting::jawdrop::dead::wtf:...:D

Another benefit is that there are no hydrogenated fats/oils or trans fats contained in coconut oil; those trans fats/oils; which the health care industry and fda has yet to label as the engineered poisons.
http://m.ajcn.nutrition.org/content/66/4/1006S.short

Yet a ban is now in the works so credit will be given when due; and in accordance to what many medical practitioners state; coconut oil seems to be a prime alternative to so many terrible things consumed unknowingly on a daily bases, but I digress.

This is only to give an adjunct preventative for the dermopathy in specific. (y)

And it likely is just that, a preventative due to the real issue possibly taking place within the body and not on the outside. :watching::)

The amlactin piques my interest, though I have organic refined expeller pressed coconut oil on hand at the moment; that is providing me with so many provisional uses; but I will look into it. :D

Sorry for going slightly off topic; I felt it needed to be expressed exactly why I think coconut oil holds such a great usage; and of course it is the individuals that will make the conscious decisions necessary to acclimate these things into their life or not.

Safety holds a greater respect than anything to me so is never taken in jest.(y)

Also come on, (in this context) it really is just oil lathered on the skin from a coconut right?:LOL::p;)

@Roaddog I happened to notice the alarming subject matter in your avatar... IS THAT A BABY SKUNK?!?! And if so, the cost of membership here just rose to sending me one baby skunk.

Kapmcrunk, I've heard the ladies love a little of laskunkiue; in particular the ones with a bit of a "wild side" .

Oh you know the ones with that special white stripe from the neck to the derriere.

The lovely black fur coat and glistening black eyes that say "wanna take take a walk over to my 'nest' I've got the best variety of stinks for us to bask in:shy:"...or "please won't you at least stay for a bit of trash souffle hmmmm" :hungry:

Sometimes with a little aversion "Do you think these claws make me look to prissy":nailbiting:

Also "is my tail to fat" :oops:and "I'm so torn between this tree bark necklace and acorn blouse" :wacky: Even "Do all these grasshoppers I've been eating lately make my teeth look dull  :D?"

Last but not least " I've been putting mud all over my face lips and eyelashes but they're still not looking any firmer :shifty:"

Oh no wait I must be recollecting skunks :banghead:...or not..um yeah must be skunks?o_O:smuggrin::bored::unsure::cautious:

Hahahahaha :LOL::LOL::hilarious::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

In all honesty even though I'm not for the domestication of animals that are not already domesticated; from what I've read and seen they do make pretty impressive companions/pets when properly defumed. :)

And can even be house trained to an extent.

I've had success without cessation of kava consumption as long as I treat the first signs of kava dermopathy with AmLactin which is universally agreed upon as the best treatment for kava dermopathy. This has allowed two things:
1. I've been able to address the kava dermopathy without is being split and cracked and therefore painful when the AmLactin is put on the skin
2. I can obviously still be drinking kava as long as I keep the kava dermopathy under control at the first signs on appearance.

There is also a difference between kava allergies and kava dermopathy. An allergy to kava will present and respond much differently than if it was treated like kava dermopathy so you need to figure out which one it is.

What seems to is that the kava dermopathy presents, somewhere on the torso (usually) and then, regardless of treatment (either stopping drinking kava or treating it with AmLactin) will continue to spread throughout the rest of your body and then will get better in the order that is appeared. So basically, if you get it in your armpits first (like me) then it might spread to your shoulders or upper torso area, then spread either through the arms or legs to the hands/feet and then will slowly get better in the order that it appeared (so your armpits would get worst in my example, then your upper torso, etc).

Also, and I highly recommend this for everyone, is that you use a measuring tablespoon or 1/8, 1/4, 1/2 1 cup measuring spoons (though a simple tablespoon is the best and you can even find it at some coffee shops).

Lol. You must be talking about my avatar. There is a story behind it. Bet you want to hear it. Ok, I live on a farm. I put out a huge garden. Well I have to trap for raccoons, and one day I ended up with a skunk in my trap. Very unusual, with the bait I use. Also my wife it a Veterinarian student. Well instead of letting the skunk out of the live trap, I shot her. Now, that was a huge mistake, because maybe 5 hours later, her babies, was crawling out, from my barn, looking for momma, and food. So my wife seen this. There fore we had to raise 5 skunks, with as little human contact as possible. They have to be fed every 4 hours, night and day. We released them back into the wield. Although one of them did hang around for a few years, none were ever in the house. Even at that age they can still spray. Its not as potent, but still. There ya go, there is my skunk story. Lesson I learned from all this, don't shoot the skunk. Much love. Roaddog....

You know, I probably would have shot the poor skunk too without the knowledge of those babies; mainly due to their habitual tearing through feeds; &or various other troublesome issues that such animals can bring with their presence.

So I hope y'all didn't beat your selves up for it to much because even though it had those babies and the mother cannot be brought back; the determination it took to raise them off those little feet of theirs until they could live out on their own in good graces must have been quite a weight; that's what I'll remember about this story you've told. :)

Even though you probably don't need to hear this from me, you've provided the consolation those little ones needed and they were surely cared for by people with good hearts & souls . (y)

Well thank you. I cant stand to see anything suffer. Also there is no way on gods green earth, that my wife was going to let them babies, just die. We always try to do the kind thing. I guess the thought of taking that skink out of a live trap, really did not sound appealing, at all.lol. My wife had all those skunks rounded up in less than a couple hours. They just kept coming out. There was 5 in total. We released 5. We fed them cat formula. Much love. Roaddog....

Great story!!!. The part I quoted, cracked me up though. At first, I couldn't tell if you shot the skunk or your wife.
The rest of the story cleared up my confusion (but still funny).

After promptly ignoring all the great advice in this thread, I acquired the worst case of dermopathy I've ever had thanks to a little help from toss and wash, and I'm finally ready to try keeping lotion on.

Holy hell this stuff burns when you put it on.

I just took it off my hands and they felt and looked better than they did before.

Then I immediately ripped up a tomato in my hands without thinking, got tomato pulp all over my hands and THE BURNING WON'T STOP.

I have a cream that I have to occasionally use on my face, named Kenacomb, because I have an occasional bout of seborrheic dermatitus. It only flares up during winters here in the USA when the air is dry. If I'm in a tropical climate, I have no issues at all. But if it does flare up, the cream will completely eliminate it.

I wonder if it would work on this kava dermopathy? I bet it would, but it's super expensive and I'm not too anxious to use half a tube spreading all over my body for an experiment. I'll have to get some of this Amlactin stuff, although like someone else said earlier in their thread, I also hate the feel of anything greasy on my skin.
