Has anyone tried the most recent hanakapi ai harvest? I haven't tried it since a year ago. I had 2 different bags of it and one was very euphoric while the other was like slow motion heavy ripples. Both were nice but I prefer things a tad less heavy. What is this most recent batch like?

I'm drinking it now. Well not now but in an hour. This version is not Heady. I call it my Zombie kava. It's like what happens to fish when you put rotenone in the pond, they get "stunned" and float up to the top. It's a great kava if you want to turn off your brain and do nothing of any consequence. I'll be getting zombo-fied with it in a bit. It's like have a shell and "forget about it".
Would you say it is comparable to the Hanakapi Ai that was selling before the "root hair" batch? That one was potent and heavy which is usually what I like but there was some component that really made it un-enjoyable for me. I really liked the first root hair release.

I have no idea about the "root hair" batch. I don't think I experienced that. This one is not heady for sure. I have also noticed that I have epic dreams when I take it and I even remember some of it. Then I wake up and say, "CALCIUM, why does he have a playlist called CALCIUM. I understood the names related to the moods in the other playlists. But why Calcium?". I'm still trying to figure that one out. Perhaps my subconcious telling me I need more calcium in my diet. Who knows
Since I've been back on kava full time I've had some really weird dreams. Just like being there and I can remember them for ages afterwards. Sometimes they're quite negative and worrying but sometimes quite nice. I can't remember any clearly now, after a few days, but I'm sure I ran someone over the other day.

I was referring to what the GHK product description described as being made from the "small hair like roots". It was the batch from summer of 2015 that was so popular...

I love the kava dreams. Pretty much no matter what type I use, I am guaranteed to have interesting and very vivid dreams. It's not fun when they are bad but most of the time they are pleasant or just really odd in an interesting way.

@Edward, I know it has been discussed before but ... Do you notice any difference in dreams based on the strain of kava? I have noticed that my typical Moi and Nene don't give me big dreams. But the Hanapaki Ai' guarantees I will be busy all night. That being said, sometime I wake up to go to the bathroom, I go back to bed, and the dream picks up again. Then I wake up and say, "Stop it, we already resolved it and it is nonsense". So then the subject changes. Of course, I'm writing all this from the funny farm where I have been interned until furthur notice.
I've not noticed but haven't been looking. I can get dreams with heavy or balanced kava so maybe no difference there.

@SelfBiasResistor, I think I missed out on that batch with the root hairs. :( See what you did, now you made me sad and longing for that rare and potent kava with root hairs. Sighhhh ..... Ok, I'm over it. :D
Just to let you all know, with the Hanakapi Ai it has always had only the root hairs and it says in the description. I made it this way to show people that A good Hawaiian kava (note, Isa is NOT Hawaiian) can be strong like a tudei kava but without being a tudei kava. I actually take the basil stump and mix it with other kava's and sell it locally as a Hawaiian blend.
If any of you would be interested in me offering the basil stump of this variety then I will make it available. I guess it is like the Fijian waka and Lawena, this would be Hanakapi Ai root (Waka) and basil stump (Lawena).
Aloha.

@SelfBiasResistor, well I guess I do have the root hair version after all. Whoo hooo! ::awesomesmiles:: In any event, it pretty much paralyzes by overactive brain ... which is a good thing. I don't think I can handle anything much stronger. Hey Chris, @Gourmet Hawaiian Kava, this batch of Moi also seems to be very potent. One dose of Micronized instantly gets my head buzzing. Was this a good batch or do I just have too many Kavalactones in my blood stream? In fact, I just took a dose to prove it. It makes that last hour and a half of work more enjoyable for sure. FYI, I'm a kava liteweight and proud of it.
This new batch of Moi was harvested from a different location and it is known for just being better and stronger than the other locations. Kind of like Kadavu kava in Fiji, this is an area that is known for some really good kava.
Aloha.

Are any of the other kava types grown there? I noticed the instant Mahakea is much more potent than usual...

I can't wait to try the 11/2016 Hanakapi Ai even though I admit it will be my first time trying this strain, I love waka's and a ten year one I very much look forward to.

For some reason I either have bad luck with GHK or Hawaiian USPS because this is the second order in a row from GHK that has been very slow and lack of tracking updates. I ordered March 15th and my tracking number says that the label has been printed as of then, but no updates even today, not even to say it's been accepted at their local post office.

Maybe GHK's local post office, Kurtistown is just bad at scanning their packs and mine will say it's arrived in my state tomorrow or something ... but considering it's priority mail one would think it would have at least said "Accepted" by now. This basically what happened last time, I ordered midweek and the tracking didn't even update to say it had been accepted until a week later.
