anyone tried the AluBall?

Something I noticed today.. Using Fu'u Kava in aluball I did my normal 4oz of hot water and shake for a minute. When looking at the plant material in the ball it seemed really oily and there seemed to be a lot of goodness left.
So I did a re-wash of another 4oz and was pleasantly surprised that the rewash was just as dark as the first. Then upon inspecting the plant material again it wasn't oily and looked rather damp in comparison to the first time around. I don't think a third wash would have done anything as it looked very damp (maybe I will try next time)
Another thing is that I don't chill the drink. I chug the hot drink right away. It's only 4oz at a time and goes down easily.
I think the 4oz of hot water per 2 heaping tablespoons then repeating is the way to go. Very, Very happy

My double ball order landed yesterday so I did a double ball roll last night to make enough for both the ol lady and I. It worked great.
I found another use for the Aluball, Christmas Shopping! Got a ball loaded with root at the ready in the car to counteract the stress of shopping in the people swarm, sheesh.

Sorry it is taking so long. USPS tracking system doesn't seem to estimate delivery dates correctly lately. It might be due to the high traffic holiday season.

There are no developments in kava in Europe because in theory we don't have a kava culture, it's illegal in a lot of European countries. In time that will change I think and there will be kava bars all over Europe and then maybe some innovations.

HUGE massive thumbs up from me - just got mine today - this thing is awesome.
Not sure why folks are concerned regarding the amount you can fit into the ball - because it only takes a minute to shake up, you can just make up shells on demand - or that is what I'm doing.
I love it. I was never one of those peeps to get all excited to squeeze their brew - to me it was always a chore.... I love this thing!

Ok, tonight's the night. I mixed 3/4 cup of milk with 1 heaped tablespoon of Nene. It went super frothy . I think it would be best to mix your next shell right after your first to let it settle down a little after. (I can hear lots of people screaming right now... "or just use water you moron!" but I like the milk so there). I should say that this is my first time with Nene so I have nothing to compare it to. Also I have been at work for about 17 hours today so I'm tired already. Anyway, I have heard that Nene is super mild but I thought it had quite a strong, pronounced flavour to it. I wouldn't describe it as peppery but rather as distinctive, not unpleasant at all though, I quite liked it. The milk generally subdues the "rush" effect from kava and makes it build up more gradually and this has been the case with the Nene. I wasn't expecting much of a rush anyway with everything I have heard about it. After 20 mins I can definitely feel my whole body starting to relax ever so slightly. I can't feel any heady effects at all which is not surprising. I think another shell of this and I will be off to bed. I found the aluball worked just fine. Other than making the milk frothy it was great, mixed the kava well and it seemed potent enough. I will have to try with strains that I am more used to in order to get a feeling for how effective it is but from first impressions and for ease of use I would say thumbs up.

Definitely! Great for the busy work week when you're tired and pressed for time. We still always look forward to the end of the week when we can traditionally prepare a big bowl and really sit down and enjoy more than a few cups of Kava with good company.
