anyone tried the AluBall?

I usually do two minutes per shake. I always do a second wash and sometimes a third. I have been using less water than I used to. I domed it and got like three tablespoons in last night. I dumped the first and second wash in together and felt great. After the hour of the lovely euphoria died back to a normal kruzz I made dinner. About an hour after dinner I said what the heck and did a third wash since I didn't clean it out yet and it was enough to bring back a milder but nice kruzz. I never have the heart to dump root from only one wash lol

If I'm doing only one round with the Aluball, I don't worry about second washes (as long as I shake it thoroughly and vigorously for a minute or more). Two tablespoons of spent root never seems worth bothering with.

On the other hand, if I'm doing two or three rounds with the Aluball (4-6 tablespoons), then I save and store all of the spent root in a nut milk bag. Then, at the end of the night, I do a final wash/knead with the spent Aluball root that I've saved in the nut milk bag. That usually gets me a nice strong shell to end the evening with, and I don't feel guilty for wasting any root.

I cracked the base of one of my aluball shakers :-( . I think they need to be stronger. I know other people have had this problem, what are you using instead?

Accidentally forgot and shook it up and down when it was empty... got to shake it side to side when it's empty.

Why shake at all when It's empty?

Because there's usually some good kava liquids still in the balls. But yes, shake it side to side when it's empty, cause the bottom of the shaker is prone to crack. I have less issue with that with 3 balls though.

With kava supreme it's quite strong. I don't feel like I need another ball. I was thinking about buying one extra, but now I'm not sure. Maybe I'm sensetive.

2 balls are great for the lighter, headier kavas or if you want a stronger prep.
