Do you have spiritual experiences with kava?

I seem to experience kava as being very spiritual. I am wondering if this is normal and what sorts of experiences you guys have had? I assume part of this is because I have worked with other plant teachers and so I am able to approach the experience as a learning experience rather than simply something I do for pleasure or anxiety relief. This is one of my favorite aspects of kava and makes it so much more exciting and enjoyable, vs a sedative that simply knocks you out and otherwise only has negative effects on your life.

Maybe not in the same context as you. It helps meditation which can bring on a more calming experience overall.

How does it manifest that way for you ? I used to be able to notice the plant spirit much more until K@ came around in my life.. but I'm curious what exactly you feel . Is it a sense of the sentientness of the Kava inside you? Or does it also effect the outside world ?

Until what came around? Yes, I experience a sense of the plant spirit teaching me things. The lessons revolve around attaining a sense of peace and stillness. Like I said, I have worked with other teachers and I found those teachers showed me areas within myself that are contracted, places where I am clinging to transient forms which is like building your house on sand as Jesus explained. While those teachers showed me where those places are they didn't necessarily help me all that much with the actual process of letting go. Kava on the other hand, gives me such a sense of mental relaxation that all I need to do is follow it's lead and those places of contraction and tightness begin to unravel. Of course this is a painful and frightening process but kava helps me feel comfortable about the whole thing. It also uplifts my spirit and gives me a sense positive energy. When I listen to my kava music on kava I feel so good. I just wish I had known about the greatness of kava a decade ago. I got myself into a lot of trouble abusing alcohol and benzodiazepines and I am very confident that would not have happened to me, had I known about the wonders of kava.

This is why we exist. Kava needs to be more well known. Far too many people suffering needlessly by either not having any form of relief, or by being in the clutches of benzo addiction.
I'm reasonably sure that if I had found kava first, things in my life would be drastically different as well.

I definitely agree on Kava as a better alternative to booze and pills. Unfortunately, Kava isn't as readily available as those things and is considerably more expensive. This gives it a narrow crowd of early adopters.

In terms of spirituality, sure. I feel it. Kava opens some gates. I was able to write almost all of my Master's Thesis on Kava because it tapped into some creative spaces. If I really want to sit and meditate on decisions I need to make, Kava opens up spaces for reflection.

Hey good for u-we were all supposed to find kava exactly when we did. Life is experience, learning. And overcoming addictions is one of the most eye-opening, painful, maddening but also necessary in our experience for whatever reason. It is these times that make us who we are. And then we get to learn how to live and feel again.........AAH! And then we need kava!
It's just like when we find spirituality. We find it right when we are supposed to. Relaxation is the key to spiritual experience so if kava does that for u, capitalize! I find when I drink (too much) kava I have a hard time connecting as compared to when I have had none or a little. I find clarity is necessary for me as I delve deeper. I love using plants and herbs and am huge into Ayurveda especially. Kava lets u really feel the love, peace and tranquility, when sometimes u just cannot. Go Mother Nature! I hope to use ayahuasca with a shaman someday. Mr binx had a great video posted about it somewhere around here.

Group ayavacation with forum members is now on the bucket list. I watched a documentary and at the end it showed one of the shaman trainees running his own gig up in Canada.

Eh. I feel incredibly private about my spiritual experiences. Someone posted a thread about meditating and kava a few months back, and I had never tried it, so I gave it a whirl. I just kind of put myself down into that deep trance state, which I often find very hard to obtain. The resulting narrative that unfolded was more than a little strange, and as it turns out, so accurate, that I don't feel comfortable with discussing it. I could describe to you what I had seen, and claim that I've never heard of such a thing, but to an outside person, I have no way of proving that I didn't have pre-knowledge of these things. I was very conflicted afterwards, because the person who started the thread sincerely wanted to share, and wasn't getting a ton of feedback, but I was put in the position of keeping it to myself, or being the kind of person that I wouldn't even believe. I mean, generally you shouldn't believe someone if they say they can see back in time, that's just silly. And probably how ridiculous murder suicide cults get started, lol.

So after incubating for a while, I determined that this was an experience for me to enjoy, myself, and not really share. I can share that I did have a thing, and am not sharing, though! I hope that's not too convoluted to make sense. :bored:

Most spiritual experiences are like that...only for u! and it's perfectly fine not to share. I'm happy to hear u found that accessible place in all of us , where the real source is.....some never do......when we first "enter", there are the most frightening of fears and limiting beliefs-most u didn't even know u held-but I urge u to continue. U will conquer them one by one as u face them and u will know the truth. It doesn't matter what others think. They will find their truth when the time is right. We ARe the gods! We are just so wrapped up in our physical existence that we forget......

Nah, not really. It doesn't really alter my state of mind aside from the obvious relaxing effects. Therefore, I'm just as likely to have a spiritual experience while not taking Kava.

I have not been able to get to the spiritual level with kava that I once did. I'm attributing it to the stress of corporate America for now. I also wonder if I need to find the right strain. I'm still hunting for one that speaks to me. What is kava music? I am very interested in hearing this, be it your own creation, a playlist, or a genre that puts you in the zone. :D

Try Solomons Kava. It is quite hypnotic and mellowing. It kills stress and inspires "spiritual feelings" at the same time.

Yeah, I agree! Most of them are pretty much only relevant to your own self. I was just saddened, because I wanted to share with someone, but I really couldn't, even though I had done it for their sake! Haha. Anyway, kava isn't going to get you in that LSD/ aya-youknowwhat spiritual experience headspace on its own. It will definitely help you get into deep spaces for meditation, though... if you have practiced it and know to be patient.

The fact that it isn't like LSD/aya is an advantage in my opinion. I think that when it comes to people looking for healing/spiritual experiences, those things are overused. They have their place for sure, and I have benefited in many ways from those sorts of experiences but I also think you can go too far with them. They are not relaxing like kava is and a big part of the spiritual path is leaning how to relax and not worry so much.
