Going to the big island

that's awesome! we're spending at least a day or two on Hilo side. she grew up on the big island so she's building an itinerary of all of her favorite childhood places like big island candies, the rainbow bread spot, the build your own sushi roll place, various bays and beaches, etc.
i'm just hoping to see some live kava plants and eat myself into a blackout with some roasted pig.

I made it to the big island with my wife and I wish I could say that the first thing we did was go to a kava house but, after not sleeping for most of 48 hours, the first thing I did was pass the fuck out for 5 hours.
Luckily I woke up in time to get some of the fresh kava on offer from Kanaka Kava. We bought a liter and a half. I had no idea how amazing fresh kava could be. My wife and I LOVED it. It tastes so different and the effects were incredible.

Zack and Kanaka kava is a great guy and he has been growing kava for a long time, he has had his kava bar for a long time too. I am glad you got to try some fresh kava root. Hope to see you soon, aloha.
