Is This What People Mean By Getting "Krunk?"

So, my usual dose of Stone or Wow Kava is about a cup of the root. I prepare it following Nakamal's instructions. I had to use milk though since I do not have soy lecithin. Well, I drank all the Kava over about an hour and a half to two hours. Halfway through that when I started to feel off should have been a warning. When I was done drinking though, I was wobbling all over the place, standing up felt nice because I felt really light, my head felt funny when I shook it, and I just felt completely free of anxiety.

Now on to GHKs Hanakapa'ai Kava... Just wow. I did the same thing, but this time it was a LOT stronger than even Wow Kava. I actually went cross-eyed for a bit. I don't know the exact cause of it, but I assume it's one of the alkaloids that did something. I was also more wobbly than before and had trouble going down a single step. So, is this normal at what I assume is a pretty high dose?

Also, for anti-anxiety effects and the "head" effect I hear people talk about (my head only buzzed the first time on Wow Kava), which GHK Kava should I try tonight? I have Hanakapa'ai, Maheaka, Hiwa, and Moi.

Ya. I thought that was too much. I'll use a half a cup of the root for now on and save the other half for later. I just heard that some people use a cup of the root, so I wanted to try it. Isn't that about 4 or 5 shells?

Depends on how big of a shell you're using!

Try using three tablespoons of Kava (HEAPING) to about 400 ml of water. That's a much better ratio and you won't blow through your Kava so fast. It is really hard to work all of the kavalactones out of one cup of Kava powder. You are probably losing a lot of the effects and wasting Kava. Try using an AluBall with warm water and then doing traditional prep after that. You'll really stretch out your Kava supply and probably also get a better effect.

Also, stretch out your sessions! If you are getting dizzy and blurry vision, you might find yourself having a regrettable experience.

Okay. I'll just make a half a cup at a time which is 8 tablespoons (so I can take half of that a day and save the rest for the next day). That way I can take it daily and hopefully get past the reverse tolerance and I'll be able to take less. Hopefully half a cup will be easier to strain. It takes a while to strain 1 cup, but it's not THAT hard. I do agree that I am probably not extracting everything.

Also, I wasn't really that dizzy. I just found that I had trouble walking on inclines or making turns. Also, that was the first time I ever went cross-eyed from it. I know I went cross-eyed though because I could see things fine about a foot in front of me.

Wow. I only used a half a cup of the root this time. I used Moi. Is this what people mean by Moi is a "heady" Kava? My head kind of feels like it does when I stand up too quick and get the buzz from low blood pressure. I know it's not low blood pressure though since the feeling does not change when I stand up.

LOL. Yeah, that's a lot of kava but if you're enjoying it then way to go :) . Most people would probably go a lot less and still feel happy with the result. Are you not getting any nausea at all?

Heady does kinda go to the head but that's not why it's called that... it's because it's more euphoric and mentally active versus being in the body and not really felt psychologically beyond anti anxiety

Yeah, I generally use 1/2 cup per session, and I don't drink it all at once, but space it out. I have had the crosseyed/double-vision experience and it is not a higher level of "krunk", it it just annoying because I can't do anything that involves looking at things. That does wear off pretty quickly, though. At even higher doses it is possible to get to the point where you can't walk without falling over. Again, that is not a "higher level" In other words it doesn't feel better than a modest dose, it just incapacitates you temporarily.

Another thing you can do to prevent those unwanted effects, in addition to spacing your shells, is to eat snacks during your session, instead of fasting. Not a huge meal, but something like cheese and crackers seems to prevent you from getting too krunk.

I'm finding that since I've been mixing with milk 1 teaspoon of instant per shell and 2 shells per night is enough. Sounds like next to nothing but oh yeah, it works fine.

Two things that hit the brakes on a krunk for me:

1) Bready high carbo foods. Fast-burning carbos.
2) Caffeine

In the case of caffeine, it'll clear your head but still leave you loose-limbed and won't make a too-krunk-to-drive person an excellent driver suddenly. It clears up fog-brain, though, if I drink too much too fast and end up just staring dreamily into space rather than engaging with other people.

Listen to the Kavasseur because this precise advice is worth gold: drinking and enjoying kava is something that one has to learn by experience.
"Building" and maintaining a proper kava session with many hours long bliss is an art ! It doesn't works every time but when it does...this mysterious plant touches you at the core.

Possibly very good advice. I had sessions where half a cup was stronger than one cup of kava...maybe because i was able to massage more kavalactones out of the smaller amount.

Also noticed that letting it soak for an hour or so reeeeally helps.
