Possible?

Last evening I tried four Tbs. medium grind Ono. Drank it in two servings half an hour apart. I prepared it the traditional way (first time). I actually coped with the taste better this way. last night I really didn't feel any effects until bedtime. I slept very soundly. Today I have a pleasant feeling. Very positive. Is it possible this is from last night's kava? I'm hoping that I'm breaking through RT. Thanks for your comments and ideas.

I love the next day after kava effect. I use the word "mellow" to describe it and I like that feeling. I've been described at times as being a "nervous nelly" and kava helps slow me down and calm me down. And even for Newbies, Kava is sneaky and will still give you a good night's sleep. I always liked that feature. Just keep chipping away. Heck, RT or no RT, you are still experiencing some nice benefits.

Hey there, @Steph!

My 'Ono is an interesting kava -- it's more of a body/heavy kava, and it's not overly potent. Since it's not as heady and strong, you probably don't think you noticed much of a difference after you drank it because it doesn't affect your head as much as other kavas. It's a very easy going kava and is the best tasting dry root I've ever had (which is why I carry it). Additionally, it has a silky, oily texture, making it a different experience than the usual root.

Good kava will have an "afterglow" effect well into the next day, which is why I drink my kava at night, and you'll continue to feel anti-anxiety effects through the next day.

That was a bit odd, I wrote that earlier and yet now I've just finished my milk and feeling the rush come on. Mind you I've had 2 tbsps. of cream of Vanuatu so it's probably fair enough.

That's a good solid traditional prep for me too. 4-6 tbs (what I call 3 'heaping' tbs). I get next-day effects that are specific to the type of kava, even. Yeah, it's a great side benefit. I always report on next day effects. I only need drink kava once or twice a week and rely mainly on positive next day effects.

I suspect that you're NOT over RT yet. Mainly because you said you didn't feel much of anything except at bedtime. So I'll wager you're getting the heavy/body effects of it, but not the heady/euphoric effects. As you clear RT, those effects will come online.
